Premiere Elements 9 will not add video to timeline

Dec 28, 2012 5:52 PM

Premiere Elements 9 will not add video to the timeline or sceneline.  I've tried MOV, AVI and MTS files.  They all play when double clicked in the Organize tab.  I'm using Windows 7, have 39GB free on the C: drive, and the video and scratch files are on the D: drive.  Suggestions?

Moving this to the Premiere Elements forum. Not many of us here in the PSE forum use PRE.

Is that D drive a separate, physical drive... or a partition on the C drive?

If that IS a partition... read http://forums.adobe.com/thread/650708

Also, I have read that PreElements requires you to have Quicktime installed

What happens if you use Get Media to import the clip to your project?

(You can't add a clip directly from the Elements Organizer's Media Browser to your timeline.)

If you're seeing a purple triangle with a P in it over the clips, then you are in the Organizer Media panel. You need to click on the Project button under the Organize tab to see the clips that are actually in your project.

You should be able to drag the clips from the Project panel to your timeline.

You shouldn't need to do that -- but, if it worked, that's all that matters!
