Problem to open a file in Dreamweaver

Hello,

I used Dreamweaver 8 to create and manage my website on a PC with Windows XP Pro.

Recently I have changed my computer, always a PC, and now I use Dreamweaver 8 on this PC with Windows 7 Familial Edition Premium.

The most files (.html or .htm) can be opened in Dreamweaver but some files (.html) don't opened, Dreamweaver is blocked, doesn't respond.

Could you tell me what happened and how is the solution of this problem?

Thanks a lot for your help and good end of year.

Patrick.

    Hi Pat -

    Welcome to the Forum.

Can we assume you have all the files on your new machine and have defined the site in the new DW?

Have you installed the 8.0.2 updater?

    http://www.adobe.com/support/dreamweaver/downloads_updaters.html#dw8

Best way for us to assist is to see ALL your code.  Kindly post a link to the online page you are unable to open.

    Thanks

Are you trying to open the files from DW as in  File > Open File?

Or are you trying to open files from your File Manager (aka Windows Explorer)?

If the latter, I think you need to tell your operating system that Dreamweaver 8 is the default application for opening files with .html extension.   Usually, the OS will assume that web docs should be opened in your default web browser.
