how do i create a linked image slideshow?

just ran in to a bit of trouble, i don't understand where it instructs me to "invoke the plugin to the outer-most dom element" could you explain what thaty means to me please.

You invoke the plug-in with a JavaScript function referencing the Div ID or class name that contains your slides. I usually put this function code inside <script> tags just before the closing </body> tag.
