I have been trying all afternoon and evening with Elements 11.

I loaded it from disc (I thought I did) with Windows XP and went in and copied/put in the pics

then went to the other one to "play" with the pictures I use an external hard drive

1. it took forever to copy the pictures

2. it took forever to move from one thing to another in the other screen

3. my screen freezes constantly

i restarted my computer three times, with and without my passport(external hard drive)

I am just about as frustrated as I have ever been

I don't want to pay someone to fix what should have been easy

What do you mean by "copied the pics"? If you have a lot of photos PSE will be slow until it's through generating the thumbnails for them all. If you have thousands of photos, best to let it run overnight. Also, if you have the auto analyzer turned on (organizer preferences>media analysis), it will be VERY slow till that's through running. Best to turn it off.

i was on "chat" with a tech for hours this am. he helped me ..........it is still not running as smooothly as i expected, but i guess that is just how it is. i think zoom browser from canon or picasa are both much easier
