White background for DIVs in CS6?

I have recently updated DW from CS5.5 to CS6 and when I open the pages of my websites, the DIVs show a white background when the background-color (or simply: background) property is not declared in the CSS or when it is set to transparent.

This means that in Design mode I often can not see the contents but the preview is correct under all browsers.

I do not understand why this happens, especially when background:transparent; is declared.

Does this happen to me only?

    Hi helpvid, thanks for your reply.

     

    I can not provide a link because the problem occurs in DW only, but I have taken a screen snapshot.

    All of the divs that show a white background have the property background:transparent; declared in the style sheet:

    Yes I see your issue, I experienced a similar problem during the switch from CS5 to CS6 a box in my navigation area does not appear alligned, but in the browser everything looks fine.  But as a perfectionist I want it looking the same in DW.

     

    There may be conflicting server side code, Did you download site from server to your CS6, or manual.

    Welcome to the real world. Dreamweaver's Design view can only be used as a guide, not as the real thing. To approach the real thing, you will have to turn on Live view. Even then it is not to be trusted because of the differences in each brand (and version) of the browser.

    @helpvid: I built the pages from scratch. By the way it is the same with static pages as well.

     

    @Altruistic Gramps: I have been using DW since the 8 version and this problem appeared in CS6 only, so it is not only a real world but also a deteriorating world!

    Get rid of the background:transparent property and you should be good to go.
