cutting and pasting

I would like to cut and past things or people and blend them in to other photos (so the look as if they were in the photo in the first place)? I have been using Microsoft Picture It Digital Image Pro for some time, but I have now moved from the dark side to an Apple Mac and Elements 11.  I would like to point out that the old software would alow me to rotate objects as a layer, this worked well so I could get the best angel before blending in with clowning or brushes.

    Could you please post some screenshots of the pictures you're using and then we could suggest the best workflow for cutting and pasting them together.

    Select what you want to copy with the selection tools of your choice, press command+C to copy, click in the other image, press command+V to paste. Use the move tool to reposition or rotate, or go to Image>Rotate for a whole menuful of options.

    Ben,

     

    I have made up some photos for my family and freinds as an example I have taken the head of a rugby mate and made him look like he is kicking the wining convertion for scotland this is the closes he will ever get, please see photo. if there are any links to vidios on how to do this I would welcome them.

    Barbara, thank you for your comments I will try them, I have sent a photo earlier to Ben Markus so you have an idea on what I am trying to do, if there any links or video training this would be welcome.

    You can do this by just doing what I said, but to make it believable is a much bigger project, unless you just happen to have a photo of your friend with the exact same lighting and his head in the exact same position.
