    Is there any way to arrange an anchored object? For example, I have anchored a simple graphic, but it's bounding box is filled with white. Text will wrap around it fine, but I can't get the white behind the copy.

    Unfortunately, no. Anchored objects are always in front of the text in which they are anchored.

    This may be too late, but you could try putting a clipping path around the image first.
