downloading pictures onto flashdrive

I downloaded some photos onto a flashdrive from photoshop elements 11, they were aventually erased a day later.  I went to download same photos

day later and receiving an error message not letting me download onto a flashdrive.  Am I doing something wrong with elements or is it my laptop?

    You can try the File->Move option present in PSE11 to move photos to flash drive. While moving photos you will get an option to delete photos from your hard disk or keep them
