Hi! I've seen this question asked before (it was posted in 2010), but the issue wasn't completely answered. All of a sudden, the forms I made in Acrobat are opening with dark gray field highlights: not only on my computer, but on other computers in the office as well. The dark gray highlight makes the text unreadable. When I go into preferences to check the field highlight color, it shows as the usual light blue. When I change it to some other light color to test it, the change only works until I restart my computer.
I'm on windows 7, by the way....
many thanks for anyone who can tell me why this has suddenly started happening!
It's possible to change that highlight color setting with a script, so
maybe one of the files you're using is doing so.
Although possible, it is considered bad form to mess around with the user's
settings without letting them know or reverting the changes when your file
is closed, but it's possible someone didn't care about that...
Hi! Thank you for your reply!
I should have specified that these are forms I had built, and hadn't set any script for highlight color change. (And I always script it to change back ). It's a very specific thing, I've seen people ask about it before, the dark gray field highlight that doesn't show in the preferences dialog.
As it happens, I figured it out: It's Microsoft/Windows related. My Acrobat was crashing constantly, I had re-installed, it still crashed. I tried running it in "Compatibility Mode". No more crashes, but that's when the form field highlights all went dark. No longer running in "Compatibility Mode" and the fields are back to normal. Remains to be seen whether Acrobat can run without crashing...
