Warp/Fit text into custom shape

Hi there,

Am trying to manipulate text as follows...

- Text bends through 90 degrees

- Text is scaled to `grow into` the corner of the bend

Diagram below

Hope that makes sense! Can't for the life of me work out how without the text getting warped off in funny ways.

Can anyone help?

You need to prepare the mesh carefully. Start with a rectangle mesh and drag this mesh into the shape you need with the direct selection tool.

Also take a look at the plugin Mesh Tormentor, it will help edit the envelope.

Have tried this, several times, and trying different mesh layouts. Latest attempt is shown below. All attempts have just trashed the text!

Not sure mesh deform is neccessarily the way to go.

That doesn't look too well. You can of course try if adding more mesh lines might help. But maybe you need to do this the hard way, draw the type and construct manually.
