Illustrator CS6 doubled actions with function keys used

Jan 18, 2013 5:27 AM

Hi,

I started to manage Actions in Illustrator CS6 and found weird issue:

when I'm using any Action with function keys (tried few configurations) the Action is automaticaly starting second time.

When I'm using Button Mode and pointing/clicking the Action I have correct one-time Action proceeded.

Problem is exisitng just in Illustrator.

Does anyone have same issue?

Try slowing the repeat rate on your keyboard.

Yes. Filed a bug report weeks ago, but nothing. It's driving me INSANE.

I'm experiencing exactly the same issue that you described.  I will put in a bug report also.  Maybe that will help in giving it higher priority.

    Same issue, and worse.

I have a simple action sequence built fresh in CS6, that frequently starts in the middle of the sequence whether I start the action from the play button or  button mode. After escaping the sequence and restarting it, it will usually execute correctly if Illustrator has not crashed.

Also, actions are not being written to Illustrator's internal store when they are built, or when the Actions panel is put away, but only when Illustrator is quit. I found this out the hard way during some frequent crashing while putting an action together.

I had previously applied the latest patch (16.0.4) hoping the F-key (or the other) issue would be resolved; it was not.

Just installed CS6 at work and ran into this same problem. Every time I use a shortcut key for an action it does it twice.

I found a workaround though: In the Action menu go to the end of your action, then go to the options and select "Insert Stop."

This worked for simple actions like offsetting a path at least.

    Thanks!

As long as I leave the space for the message blank in the stop options it doesn't prompt me for an extra click.

But yeah, it's not perfect. I hope they fix this soon.

I posted this a week ago:

It's not a repeat rate issue.

    Bug persists in Illustrator 16.0.4.

Was introduced in an update, not sure which one.

    Stop action workaround is working.
