My ram preview is very slow, even when using 1/4 of 720p resolution. Rendering is fast at start but slows to around 2 frames per second when ram is close to being full.
Task manager shows around 6.8gb ram usage, while cpu usage is less than 50% so clearly my cpu is just waiting for ram.
I have a lot of questions in preferences settings so thank you in advance to those who will help.
1. what are these settings for?
2. It says my gpu is not supported. I have latest gpu driver, should I install the AMD OpenCL driver too?
3. What would be the best settings for cache, considering I only have two drives, and what are those other cache options in the bottom?
4. Should I enable render multiple frames simultaneously?
CPU: AMD FX6100 4.0Ghz
RAM SLOT1: 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600
RAM SLOT2: empty (I have a spare kingston 4gb 1333 if needed)
GPU: Sapphire HD6850 1GB 256bit
HDD: Seagate 500gb, Hitachi 500GB
Seagate 100GB partition = windows 7 and AE
Seagate 365GB partition = raw footage from camera
Hitachi 500GB = disk cache and final render
Only NVIDIA cards are supported at this time. The adaptive resolution is what is used for normal preview while you're dragging things around in the composition. The internal wireframes only helps with Ray Traced 3D and since your computer isn't compatible it's a meaningless setting.
Adaptive resolution is described in the documentation, here:
