On your MAC, please click somewhere on the screen. Now on the top of the application you will be seeing menu items. Click "Go" from here. A dropdown list will appear. From here choose "Go to Folder".
Now type ~/library in the textfield which appears and hit enter.
You will see the folders I meantioned in the finder windows which opens up on doing so.
And NO, reinstall will not fix it since preferences do not get deleted upon uninstall.
I trashed psa.prf and status.dat.....then I launch organizer as you suggested and still no taskbar at the bottom of the organizer......without that taskbar, I cannot select a photo and click editor to move the photo to the editor because there is no longer a taskbar with "editor".
When I first installed PSE 11 there was no problem, the task bar was at the bottom with such options as rotate, editor, etc. Now nothing. On the organizer screen are a list of albums and folders on the left column, many thumbnails in the center, Import, Media, People, Places, Events, create, and share across the top.
What have I done to lose it? As you can tell I'm new to photoshop....I have never used any photoshop before now until I purchased elements 11
What resolution is your screen set to?
To know this, go to System Preferences >> Displays on your MAC.
Since the files you trashed are still there in the trash bin, you havent lost anything so please don't worry.
Those are preference files which remember the state of different widgets on the application user interface.
Is your taskbar hidden behind your system dock?
If yes, in System Preferences >> go to Dock and set it to "Automatically hide and show the Dock".
If not, I would request you to please share a screenshot of the issue.
Let's see if this helps.
While Organizer is launched, click Cmd + Shift + 3 from your keyboard. You will see a Screen Shot.png created on your desktop.
Upload it in your reply on this forum. Click on the small camera icon that you see in the reply field.
