Trying to loop specific timelines in Encore CS6 for a blu-ray. I understand that the way to achieve this is to set hte TImeline's End Action back to the first chapter. I have done this for all the timelines in question, but none of them will acutally loop. At the end of the video the timeline returns to the previous menu screen.
The videos are encoded 720p H264 Blu-Ray.
Any thoughts as to why it is behaving this way? I am gonig to try deleting and re-importing the asset, re-building/linking the timeline, but other than that I'm out of ideas.
Let me know if you need more information. Thanks for any suggestions!
Here is a portion of the flow chart for this extensive project. There are two examples of videos I want to loop within this image. I am testing after reseting the override to 'Not Set'
And yes this is when played back in Encore preview as well as when a burned BR is played in a BR player.
Just created a new project to do some testing, and interesting results indeed! One timeline is looping successfully, while another with matching link and override settings will not loop. In the screen shot of the test flowchart below, notice teh difference between teh 'BHS_Reel' and the 'BigGame_Reel' These are the two timelines in question. Well as we speak, now the BHS Reel, which was looping successfully, will not loop. But I do see a visual difference between the two in the flow chart.
Well mystery solved! I had re-set the override on theTimeline to 'Not Set', but had not re-set the override on the Button to 'Not Set'. With both overrides 'Not Set' the desired timelines are now looping correctly.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction John
Indeed John, a valauble lesson learned. I suppose I have been tricked in a way by previous experience with the 'Check Project' feature and the resulting notification of an 'Override not being set'. I assumed it was required without doing the proper research to educate myself.
Thank you again for your time and patience.
As you have found out, Overrides can be set in various places.
Once, they were necessary, but with Playlists, and Chapter Playlists, they sort of became obsolete, except for very rare instances, and very specialized uses.
As John T. points out, unless one have one of those rare, specialized instances, and then fully understand Overrides, they should not be used, as they almost always cause issues.
Good luck, and thank you for reporting your success.
