I have Photoshop CS6 and Elements Premiere 11 and both were showing estimated file sizes properly up until a couple of weeks ago, and both stopped at the same time. Using Image, Mode I have verified on both that the images I am trying to save are 8 bit and not 16 bit images. I am on Window 7, 64bit.
Please help as I find this function very useful.
Thanks for your quick response. I use primarily .dng and .jpg formats and on the Save and Save As windows they normally show file size just before hitting Enter, but no longer. Those estimates certainly aren’t deadly accurate, but from my experience I’d say they’re normally within +/-10%, or so.
In Save and Save As in the last window where you can adjust the .jpg compression it normally shows the (estimated) File Size, which it no longer does. I’m not sure what “preview” you are interested in, although I don’t recall changing any settings before the file size quit showing up in both programs.
Thanks for your prompt support in this.
In PSE11 it is the Editor associated with Elements Organizer that I am using as well as Photoshop CS6.
Below are multiple screen shots with descriptions:

Well, after more investigation last night and this morning I think Elements is working fine and that I was confused by the way Image, Mode shows "8 bits/channel" either bold or grayed out, and not with choices between 8 & 16 (or 32) bits as CS6 does.
Thanks to all of you for your help and this can probably be closed out now. I'll start a new question on the Photoshop Forum now.
