Just downloaded 7.3 but does not show in plugins. The download appeared to go OK but the plugin has not installed. Any suggestions?

What operating system are you using and your using photoshop elements 11?

Do you mean it doesn't show in the pse 11 editor under Help>About Plug-In>Camera Raw?

Did you get any kind of error messages while installing the 7.3 camera raw plugin?

Did you run the installer after downloading if not gotton thru the pse 11 editor Help>Updates

The 7.3 camera raw plugin itself should be in:

(right click on the plugin and choose properties to see the version)

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 11\File Formats

Did you do the install on an administrative account?

Is your xp system 32 or 64 bit?

I'm wondering if somehow the 64 bit version of the plugin was installed instead of the 32 bit version.

What does the size say in the properties dialog?

I think you have the right plugin installed as the 64 bit version is several mb larger in size.

I'd try resetting the photoshop elements 11 preferences by going to Edit>Preferences>General in the pse 11 editor and clicking on

Reset Preferences on next launch and restart photoshop elements 11.

If that doesn't work then try deleting the photoshop elements preferences folder manually by closing pse 11

    and going to:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\11

and delete the Editor folder and then start pse 11.

This all very strange as there have been a couple of other posts recently with problems with the 7.3 camera plugin and pse 11.

You might try turning off your virus scanning software and see if that makes a difference.

(be sure your not connected to the internet and don't forget to turn it back on)

I know this isn't the right way to get the plugin to work, but just as experiment you could move the camera raw plugin to

the plugins folder in pse 11 and see if that works.

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\Plug-ins

Rather than moving the plugin you might try instead pointing the

Additional Plug-Ins Folder to that location and then restarting pse 11.

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\Plug-ins

    Edit>Preferences>Plug-Ins

I'm kinda running out of suggestions, but here's the 7.3 camera raw plugin from a windows version of pse 11.

Uncheck the additional plugins path in the editor, go to the below folder and delete the old plugin and put the downloaded one in after unzipping.

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\Plug-ins

Check your virus scanning software and/or firewall settings to see if connections to the adobe application manager are being blocked.
