Background color not exporting

I have the background color set on the document but when I go to export it the background color is white. How can I get this corrected?

How did you set the background color? The only way to have a background color to export is to make a rectangle the same size as the page, color it the color you want and send it to the back.

What do you mean by background colour?
Unlike Photoshop, Illie doesn’t have one. The “background” is transparent.

There's the Simulate Colored Paper from the Document Setup window but it doesn't print.
