I've got music in my project; something around 5 tracks I piled into a movie clip. The music plays fine until I return to the first frame, since for some reason the movie clip gets the idea to start playing over the music that was already on in the first place. How can I fix this? I basically just want the music to play in the background, and not to be affected or stopped for any reason.
I'm still making the photo album you helped me out with last time. Essentially, it's a family album I'm making for school and the music is meant to play in the background; I don't need a stop and play button or anything to complex. I,ve got different sections for different parts of the family though, so whenever the user returns to the main menu it causes the music to start again without stopping the music that was already playing.
If the music restarts each time you return to the main screen, I figure it'd get annoying. Also I'm doing this project for someone else so I can't really change anything, so I'm a little tied up...
I don't even know if I answered your question
Alright then, details, all my music is piled into a movie clip that I placed on the first frame with the main menu. So, when I start my project, the music starts with it and it's great until I hit my "Return To Menu" button and then it starts again. I've tried moving my menu to the second frame and having the music start in the first frame so that my "Return To Menu" button goes to the second frame but that didn't work.
I didn't use any scripting for the music either. I dragged and dropped my movie clip from the library to the stage. This is mainly since I don't know how to link my music movie clip thing into the animation using code.
The actions I did use were gotoAndStop (1) for my "Return To Menu" button, and I threw a bunch of stop( ) commands everywhere to avoid my album from going berserk. Oh yeah and I was told to use ActionScript 2.0, so I'm thinking that might have screwed me over.
Was that good?
What you should do is use the coded approach instead of piling all your music into anything.
Here is a link that shows how to use theSound class in AS2. Just ignore the part about using a button to control it and use the 3 lines of code inside the button code.
