Guides Invisible?

I recently reinstalled illustrator and now my guides aren't showing.

 

Yes I have "show guides" enabled.

 

I'm guessing this is just a setting, but I can't find it and this is pretty crucial as I'm trying to work on an assignment that requires guides.

 

 

Any help appreciated.

    Wow, my mistake...

     

    When I reinstalled Illustrator, I downloaded the newest updates. Apparently the mouse can go off the ruler on the left side when trying to drag a guide now... I never had this issue before.

     

    Well, issue resolved but I have another problem that I thought updates were going to fix.... I can't scroll through fonts with my mouse wheel. I can within the panel before clicking the drop down, but I can't in the drop down preview mode.
