Opening Cr2 photos

my Elements 11 will not open files with IMG---CR2 file names where Elements 10 opens them OK. What is the problem

    Make sure you have the camera raw plug-in. Launch the PSE11 editor and click:

     

    Help >> About Plug-in >> Camera Raw

     

    You should see something like this image. Press Esc to close.

    Can you check to see if the File Formats folder exists within the PSE11 folder? If it does; is there anything in it?

     

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 11\File Formats

    In my case I'm seeing Camera Raw.8BI File in that folder.

     

    Can you check your Editor for the following-

    Can you please check your path and confirm that you included the common files bit

    1. Use the link below to download the plug-in.

    2. Open the zip folder and on the menu click Extract all files; then click the Extract button.

    3. Drag the file Camera Raw.8bi into the empty File Formats folder.

     

    Make sure you use the correct file path.

    Please let us know if it works.

     

     

    N.B. the download folder will only remain public for a limited period today. This is to prevent illegal uploads.

    Are you opening from the PSE11 Editor (expert mode)

     

    File >> Open

    You will have seaparate File Formats folders in Elements 10 and Elements 11
