Photoshop CS6 Hangs on Macbook Pro When Saving File

I am running Snow Leopard with 8G ram on a 2009 Macbook Pro and CS6. Everytime I go to save or do a save as I just get the spinning beach ball and have to force quit PS. I do get the message PS not responding. I have reset the prefrences, have uninsalled and reinstalled CS6 but the same thing happens. I had no problems with CS5. I am running PS 13.0.4x64 bit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    How much extra space do you have on your HD where you are saving files?  Have you run the disk utility to repair permissions?

    I have 129G of free space. I'll repair permissions and see if that helps.

    What version of CS6 are you on?

    13.0.4 on a mac 64 bit.

    Ok, I repaired permissions, changed the prefrences for graphics processor from basic

    to normal and allocated 70% ram to PS. So far so good. Thank you for your responses.

    I hope it holds.
