Capturing Extra Data from Login Page

Feb 2, 2013 9:47 AM

I have to create a very simple website that requires the following:

Homepage (Login Page)

Page for streaming a live video link

Admin page for login data etc

I need to capture the number of people actually watching the live video stream per login (i.e. on 1 login (or PC) more than 1 person may be watching). Preferably, the number of watchers will be captured at the login stage. Is this possible, and is it easy or difficult to setup?

I understand that when someone does login, the registered users database will be queried but I don't know if the watcher number can be recorded in a separate db table along with the username and date/time. This data can then be viewed on an admin page.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sure. When the user logs in, you can issue an SQL INSERT or UPDATE statement capturing what ever details you need.
