Paste Data from Excel

Feb 3, 2013 5:27 PM

I am trying to find a quick way to paste 4000 rows of pricebook data from an excel sheet into a pre-formatted CS6 document with frames. Placing does not work, only copy and paste groups of individual lines is working (Due to the frames in In-Design). This is far too slow for 4000 rows. Any help much appreciated.

Did you try data merge? Save excel file to txt "tab delimited" file. Create the fields you need in the frames and merge.

Try saving your Excel file as "Excel 97-2003 workbook", since the list of importable files (that appears when you click file > place) include "Microsoft Excel" and "Microsoft  Excel 2007", InDesign may not be

supporting Excel 2010 (if this is the version of Excel you are using).

What does placing doesn't work mean? Why do you have to use those frames?
