Just above the Project Bin on the left side I get a display "DOC: 2.94m/7.06m". What does this information mean? I would like to see the image size (not dimensions) somewhere in the editor, but I have not been able to find it.
The value on left side represents the pixel dimensions of the merged image , while value on right side is the sum of pixel dimensions of non-transparent pixels in each layer.
So if you have only one layer in the image both the values will be same.
As said by 27Prac the left side no. represents pixel dimension of merged image and right side represents pixel dimension of layered image.
So if on your image there in only one layer say background layer -
Pixel dimension of layered image == Pixel dimension of merged image.(as in the Andaleeb sanpshot)
Thank you all for your response. I hope my question was not to elementary. I realize now that I need to judge the image quality by deminsions and resolution instead of megapixels, as in the picture posted by 99jon. I've been using Capture NX2 and it has the megapixels listed next to the filename.
Thanks again, Bob.
