Selecting by color

Feb 4, 2013 8:34 AM

Hi everybody,

I have a static (i.e. non vector) image with five different colors, representing differnet values. I cannot seem to figure out how to select within the picture the different colors seperately; selecting by color only seems to work in non-static images. Thanks heaps for your reply!

Cheers!

Normally you would choose Select Same... but you cannot edit raster images like this.

Not sure what you mean by static though. Are vectors any more animated than rasters?

To expand on Steve's comment: If your "static image" is a pixel graphic, then AI is simply the wrong tool. you would have to use Photoshop to create pixel based selections and change their coloring.
