Color profile and importing footage question

Feb 5, 2013 9:22 AM

I have lot's of jpg frames (stop-motion animation) that I need to import in After Effects. The embedded color profile is "Adobe RGB (1998)", and I set my project to the same color profile.

The problem is that when I import the frames and open the interpret footage window, the footage is interpreted as "sRGB IEC61966-2.1".

I want all the imported footage interpreted as Adobe RGB (1998), without having to change it manually for each sequence or photo.

How do I do this?

You can set up a rule in your interpretation rules file for interpreting files with certain characteristics as using a specific color profile.

See After Effects Help for details of color management.

Another workaround  is that to interpret  one file correctly and then paste the interpretation to other files.

Select the file with correct color profile set to Adobe RGB and the Press " Cntrl/Cmnd + Alt/Optn + C " to copy the interpretation.   Now select all the files in project panel and press " Cntrl/Cmnd + Alt/Optn + V ".

There's more information on footage interpretation here.
