Is there a keyword tag file I can export to use in Lightroom?
Thanks, Doug Smith
There are two ways to get PSE tags into Lightroom keywords.
One is, in Lightroom, to upgrade the PSE catalog. This not only maintains your tags and captions, but also your albums and stacks.
Secondly, you can write your tags to the files themselves (File->Write Tags...) and then import the photo files into Lightroom. Your albums and stacks will not be in Lightroom.
The first method is preferred.
Thanks. I tried that but PE only gives me the option of writing an .xml file (unless I'm missing something) and LR does not recognize .xml files for import, only .txt, .ircat, .lrdb and .aglib.
It's like the fact that LR won't recognize my 6,000+ .png files, which is why I don't want to rely on upgrading the PE catalog in LR.
Doug
I tried that
What did you try?
PE only gives me the option of writing an .xml file
I already explained there are several ways to go here, and so I can't understand why you feel the only option is writing an .xml file (which, by the way, is not one I am familiar with)
It's like the fact that LR won't recognize my 6,000+ .png files,
It's like the fact? Oh.
Lightroom does not recognize .png files. They cannot be imported into Lightroom. You need to convert them to .jpg or .tif or .psd if you want them to be indexed in Lightroom. Which of course is a different issue than the one I thought we were addressing.

May I suggest to have a look at :
This plug-in does not allow the .png files to be edited in Lightroom as a photograph can be edited. It simply allows the .png file to be imported into the Library Module, and allows metadata to be assigned to the file in the Library Module (not sure if the metadata can actually be written to the file).
