I'm trying to import XDCAM EX clips into PPro6 (PC) from an FCP project. The clips were originally brought in through the Sony Browser into FCP7. The format info is:
XDCAM EX 1080p30 (35 Mb/s VBR), 1,920 x 1,080 (1,888 x 1,062)
MPEG-2 Video, Linear PCM, Timecode
Total Bitrate: 35,860
Original Format: MPEG HD
Linear PCM, 16 bit big-endian signed integer, 1 channels, 48000 Hz
Linear PCM, 16 bit big-endian signed integer, 1 channels, 48000 Hz
All of the clips have the .mov extension. Here's an example of a clip label:
GRY40715_01.mov
I think the codecs are all registered - I've brought in other footage directly off the card and it reads and edits fine, so I think the XDCAM EX codecs are there. It is only the material that has been through FCP. The originals still play and edit fine in Final Cut.
Curious. Any thoughts?
James
Thanks for the reply, but these are files imported long ago, the cards have been erased. I've had no problems bringing in files off the cards. Do I have to convert these files, that have already been imported into FCP (through the Sony Browser, using the BPAV directory), into some other format to use them in Premiere? If so, what format? Encore doesn't recognize them either so I would have to do a batch recompression in FCP Media Manager - a couple of hundred gigs worth of material - to turn them into ProRes, or something similair. Is that my only option?
Sorry if I wasn't clear before.
James
