Text Tool max box height issue?

Feb 9, 2013 8:58 AM

I have a static text box (fixed horizontal, single line) that I input text in that I update periodically and add more updated info to the top and make it scrollable through actionscript by moving the whole box up/down with mouseover on arrows.

Everything worked fine until I hit a height of about 1625 on the box. After that all the text is not visible once I compile it. It will continue to scroll because I also have pictures and they continue to move but the text is not visible.

Is there a max height of the box?

If I place a second box directly below it then that one shows up. I would really hate to have to keep adding boxes if I want to have a long scroll for older info.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe there is a limit to the number of characters that a TextField can contain.

WHat you might try instead of using a textfield is to place ll of whatever you are sytoring into a movieclip, using separate textfield as needed.  You could create a scroller for that or even place it in a ScrollPane
