How do I re-size images in illustrator?

Anything I copy and paste, or that I draw directly on illustrator won't let me re-size it. This is quite a recent problem, so don't know if I have clicked something that wont let me re-size anything? Any help really appreciated!

    I've worked it out myself- clicking 'Show bounding box' allows you to resize as normal! Hope this answer can help someone else confused!

    Cmd(Ctrl)-Shift-B is a toggle in AI for Show/Hide Bounding box. You might have been trying to make some text a faux bold.

    Ahh that explains it! I was probably trying to ungroup a drawing, and pressed Control Shift B instead of G. Thank you!!
