Hi, I changed my Mac from an iBook to a new Mac Mini running 10.8.2
I had Dreamweaver installed from the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium. Version 9.0 Build 3481
Dreamweaver was working fine before I migrated all my files on old Mac to the new one.
Now when I launch DW I get a window with a question mark & another saying what version & build I have.
When I "Get Info' on DW3 in my applications folder size is 298,696,470 bytes (302.4 MB on disk) for 249 items in case that helps.
I thought to re-install DW from my instal disc.
Dragged old version to trash, then read the readme in the installer & put it back in Applications.
I tried to use the un-installer as directed but when I enter my password in "Set up"it says "Required resources are missing."
I thought to try to intall over the old version but when I start to install I get the same "Required resources are missing." message.
(Photoshop from the same suite is working fine, also Adobe Acrobat.
I'd also like to try Fireworks now I have an Intel Mac.)
How to proceed to get going again with DW?
Thanks Nancy, I had a look at that linked page.
"Uninstall the desired version of Adobe Creative Suite product prior to using the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool.
The unistaller doesn't work for me, do I just go ahead anyway?
Just got round to using the Adobe cleaner tool.
It offered me the option to try to uninstall again, but again ''resources were missing" so I selected the Premium Suite & click go, typed in my Mac admin pw.
Nothing that I could see happened at all.
I went to Application & all the Adobe Premium apps are still there.
I expected them to be uninstalled & need to reinstall ...
I launched Dreamweaver & it's asking me for my product serial number.
Same with Photoshop.
Is this all what you would expect?
I don't need to reinstall any thing?
Just enter my serial #s ?
I checked on the Abode website & I have the correct serial number.
I chatted to Customer Support in India, the told me, "
"As this is an older version software their is no technical support available you have to refer to
Anyone got any ideas how to get going?
(Just tried to see if I can now use the uninstaller but am told the alias can't work because the original file can't be found.)
Does Adobe have a magic master serial number that will allow me to use CS3?
Can you see if the solutions in this doc help you? http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html
The doc is chat enabled, and if you don't find the answer, the person on chat should be able to help you. Ensure that you have any or all information related to your purchase ready.
Thanks Preran, I chatted using that chat box & was forwarded to the instilation team.
They sugested downloading the CS3 Design Premium software for a fresh start but the link they gave me wouldn't accept my login, maybe because I bought though a University who has an account there.
They told me: CS3 hasn't been tested with Mountain Lion...
I tried launching Bridge & that worked OK.
I thought about trashing all the apps ...
But I didn't
I tried putting in the intall disc & re-installing over the old version.
I just installed the 2 apps I had already installed & shared componets.
They( PS & DW) now seem to be working fine so far, didn't ask for any serial number at all.
Just had to delete & add browers again in DW.
So seems to working OK.
If anyone is in same position I'm not sure if the clean tool is the way to go.
Mabe it helped in long run but at 1st it just made it so I couldn't use the apps. at all.
Thanks for being here, that did help.
