When I load 200 .m2t video files (totalling 2.5 hrs) into Premiere Pro CS6, it takes 20 minutes to "index" all the files. I am using .m2t files because my capture computer is not 64bit and so I only have Premiere Pro CS4 in it, which cannot capture HDV with scene splitting, so I use HDVSplit to capture the video and it creates .m2t files. Then I edit the video in my newer computer (see specs below).
Dell Vostro 470, Windows 7, Intel Core i5-3450 CPU @ 3.10 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 64 bit OS, Geforce GT-620.
Indexing Files Takes 20 minutes in CS6
I didn't see a question...?
20 minutes does not seem to be an inordinate amount of time to
initially conform and create waveforms for 2.5 hours of footage.
But, if it is taking 20 minutes each time you open the project
after the initial conform... that would be unusual.
