problems getting divs next to each other

Feb 13, 2013 11:10 AM

I have a footer div and inside there I have two further divs.

DIV FOOTER

     DIV FOOTERL

     END DIV

     DIV FOOTERR

     END DIV

END DIV

I am wanting to left align some footer links in the left footer div and one link to my site in the right footer div.

I attach an image, where the TD Webservices needs to be right floated to the end of the footer L div

Both the FooterL and FooterR divs are float left

The width of the footer is 960, the footerL is 850 and the FooterR is 100

Please could someone advise where I am going wrong?Image1.jpg

    Use CSS floats.

    #footerLt {

    float: left;

    width: 40%;

    text-align: left;

    }

    #footerRt {

    float:right;

    width:40%

    text-align:right;

    }

    HTML:

    <div id="footerLt">

    <p>This is footer left</p>

    </div>

    <div id="footerRt">

    <p>This is footer right</p>

    </div>

    Try this (inline styles used here for expediency).

    <div id="footer" style="overflow:hidden">

    <div id="footerMenuL" style="float:left; width: 65%; padding-left:12px">

    <p style="font-size:small; color: #666">Home | Services | Contract History |  Resume | Contact</p>

    </div><!--div id = footerMenuL -->

    <div id="FooterMenuR" style="float:right; width:25%; text-align:right; padding-right:12px;">

    <p style="font-size:small; color: #666">TD Web Services</p>

    </div><!--div id = footerMenuR -->

    </div><!--div id = footer -->

    Alas I don't do zip files.   Your list styles are messing you up.

    The code I gave you works.   See link below & view source.

    I think your biggest problem is line 56

    <div id="FooterMenuR">

    try

    <div id="footerMenuR">
