Feb 13, 2013 1:25 PM

I have an macbook pro 17' 2010 with i7 2.8 ghz, 8gb ram, as you can see it's a pretty powerful mac even though it's 2 years old but i figure the i7 is still up to-date on the processers. But when ever i run the indesign it always crash and slow the computer down a lot. It's not like i'm packaging a lot of stuff, it's only a 100 pages mag. So I'm not sure what's going on; Here's the crashing report please help! thank you very much!

First things first. Please do not post crash reports here.

Put them on pastebin.com and give us link.

That out of the way, before anything else, patch InDesign to 7.0.4.

Bob clipped off thread 24 which is where it crashed (looked like maybe something to do with the PDF library), but before anything else, as he said, run the updater.

Video RAM could be an issue. Lots of cross-references, especially to other files, can kill performance, as can Live Preflight, lots of GREP styles, working across a network, and thumbnails in the Pages panel (a symptom of not having enough video memory).
