sampling method for colour replacement tool

Feb 14, 2013 5:37 AM

There doesn't appear to be a sampling method for the colour replacement tool in Elements 10, whilst there is one in Elements 11 & previous versions. Can I get a plugin/download to give me the option in Elements 10?

With the color replacement brush selected, hold down the Alt key to change the cursor to the sampler.

Unfortunately, not. That was a big problem with the color replacement tool for several versions of PSE, but the only way to get the sampling options is to use a very old old version or PSE 11.

PSE6,  for the options bar sampling methods.

I don’t know why Adobe dropped them only to bring the sampling options back in PSE11. It could be because results for most people were mixed e.g. “sample once” often produces quite jaggy results because it works on the color sample you first click. So that’s OK for solid blocks of color but not photos with tones and shadows.

Thanks, 99jon. I thought it had been gone longer than that.
