Clone Stamp and some other tools not working correctly

Feb 15, 2013 2:49 PM

I have some problems with th CLONE STAMP TOOL at the right hand.

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt.

I do the correct thing: I press ALT-button, the click.

Can anybody help me?

I have also noticed that this also is a problem when I use the BURN and DODGE tool.

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt.

    Try selecting the tool and do a re-set.

    No need to install again.

    You may need to rebuild the editor preferences to resolve any conflicts. To begin, close Elements.

    Hold down the Ctrl+Shift+Alt keys and simultaneously click on the Edit button on the welcome screen. Release the three keys and look behind the welcome screen by closing it. Or hold down the keys whilst clicking on the desktop icon for the Editor or PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe in the Programs folder. Keep holding down all three keys for a few seconds; then release. You should get the settings option.

    You should see a pop up box with the words: Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?

    Click on Yes

    Then wait whilst Elements rebuilds the preferences.

    It's OK to do it - nothing will get destroyed.

    Are you using the clone stamp or the pattern stamp?

    Press the S key, then again to tab between the two choices.

    You press alt and click to sample. Then move your mouse and paint over the area you want to cover up with the sample. Is that what you are doing?

    The other clone stamp you are seeing soundls like you have some of the overlay options turned on. If this bothers you, click the overlapping gray rectangles at the right end of the options bar and turn off everything there;
