For some unknown reason, when using the Edit Original function in InDesign, it will open Photoshop but then fails to open the image. Same results when using Edit with. Will work with Preview and Acrobat. Any solutions?

Reset your file associations in Mac OS X. Select the problematic image and choose File > Get Info > Open With and re-select Photoshop as the application to open that type of file. Click Change All.
Yes, I have already done this on all image types - but still no difference. I have even reinstalled InDesign and Photoshop and applied all updates and still no difference. There would appear to be a break when Photoshop is trying to open the file.
In that case, it sounds like some sort of corruption in your operating system. You may have to reinstall the operating system, or try to track down a preference file in the OS which is causing the problem.
You might ask these questions in the forums on the Apple website. It's more focused (of course) on operating system issues.
If you can't find the answer, reinstalling your version of Mac OS X would probably do it.
Finally solved the issue. It was down to InDesign. I had to completely uninstall InDesign and its preferences, then reinstall from disc. The installation had errors so after a restart and reinstallation, downloading updates etc. it now works!! Not sure what is was actually down to though.
