I am getting black noise in the highlight areas of my video whenever I add a video effect. Even before I make any changes to the settings of the effect, black spots appear in the white (highlight) areas of the video. Toggling the effect on/off from the effect control window makes the spots appear/disappear.
Any suggestions as to why this is happening and how to eliminate the problem?
I am using Premiere Pro in CS6 on an iMac computer.
What are you editing?
Read Bill Hunt on a file type as WRAPPER http://forums.adobe.com/thread/440037

What CODEC is INSIDE that file? http://forums.adobe.com/thread/440037
Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... a screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing
I'm experiencing the same problem.
I'm editing AVC-I 1080i in Premiere Pro CS6 (Macbook Pro 2012) and when i'm correcting levels (s-curve or fast color corrector) flickering black noise/black dots appears in the highlight (see screenshot).
The noise disappears when the effect is removed.
Render or export doesn't help.
That did the trick!
I've updated to Premiere Pro 6.02, and now it supports my GT 650M and CUDA.
The black noise is gone and PP CS6 is working MUCH faster with CUDA

Rune & Jeff -
Thanks for the info! However, I am on an iMac 2012 with an ATI graphics card (ATI Radeon HD 6970M OpenGL Engine - 2.1 ATI-7.32.12) running Mac OS X v10.7.5 with 16GB of RAM.
I am editing 1440 x 1080 video recorded on a P2 camera using AVC-I 50 1080i as the record format. The project setting is MERCURY PLAYBACK ENGINE SOFTWARE ONLY and the drop-down menu is grayed out.
I have been running Premiere Pro CS6 and am updating the software today to the latest release (6.0.2).
Is this ATI card capable of OpenCL or this there a settting I need to change or a driver I need to update?
I really appreciate your assistance!
Could not get to your vimeo link from my computer at work. IT must have vimeo blocked on our network!
However... I updated to v6.0.2 yesterday and that seems to have resolved the issue!
Thanks again for the responses and the help!
