Centering problem?

I use illustrator CS4 and I've been having a problem with centering. I've tried to align the board using the window->align option but when I save it it still appears to be shoved up again the right side of the art board. I'll move it around to center it on the art board but the image in the layers palet still shows it as being smooshed up against the right side. I can't seem to fix it. Can anyone help?

I can't make heads or tails of your post.

I use illustrator CS4 and I've been having a problem with centering.

    Okay.

I've tried to align the board using the window->align option

The Align panel (Windows > Align) is for aligning objects, not the artboard. You want to center the artboard on screen? Is that correct? Have you tried View > Fit Artboard in Window? If so, what happens?

when I save it it still appears to be shoved up again the right side of the art board.

Wait... I thought it was the "board" (as you put it) you were trying to center. So, what exactly is "shoved up again[st] the right side of the artboard"?

If I am understanding you correctly, is this what you are seeing?
