Problems with DNG Converter

I downloaded and Installed Adobe DNG Converter because Lightroom 4 would not recognise the .NEF raw files from my Nikon D3200. When I subsequently plugged a card into the reader the PC produced USB sounds repeatedly. I had to shut down the PC in order to safely remove the card from the reader. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, is there a solution?

With the DNG you have to point to the foldr with the NEF and then covert them. You will then have a seperate folder with the DNG's.

Is lightroom updated to the latest version 4.3?

What operating system are you using?
