With Photoshop 7, I used to often Export Transparent Image, with a transparent background in a PNG. Now I have "upgraded". Is there still a way to do that with Elements 11?
In PS11, I would select the background first and have that made transparent. If I save an image as png, will I be able to choose some areas as transparent?
Or simply select your object and press Ctl+J to place it on a transparent layer. Turn off the background layer by clicking it’s eye symbol in the layers pallet and save as or save for web using PNG24.
Yes, just saving as PNG will preserve transparency, if it's already there in your image. I agree with 99jon that PNG24 is preferable, since more other programs recognize transparency in that format.
