Lightroom update 4.3

I need some help configuring Lightroom as my default program for my photos. It was until I downloaded the 4.3 update and now it wont show up in my list of programs.

    if you're using windows, right click an image file, click open with, select lightroom (or browse to it if it's not listed) and tick the always open box.

    So how does this really work?  If you designate Lightroom as a default program and then double click on an image, does Lightroom automatically import the image?
