When viewing a folder with many subfolders, the "Show Items from Subfolders" command is avaiable and I can view all (10000+) files as a "flat" list. However, if I type a keyword in the toolbar's Search box, the "Show Items from Subfolders" command is disabled. That's a big problem for me when, for example, I want to see all photos that have "skiing" in either the filename or in any of the keywords without having to open each subfolder.
Is there a reason the Subfolders option is disabled? Is there a workaround?
Checking the box searches the subfolders (which also happens if you enter the search time in the Search box on the toolbar), but the results are still displayed as folders that you need to navigate into (rather than displaying all the files that were found in the "flat" format which is what the "Show Items from Subfolders" menu command does).
My mistake! Thanks Curt. The folders do appear and I've been navigating into them, but I realize the "found" files all appear below the list of folders, too. And if I uncheck View > Show Folders, the folders are removed and I see all of the files I was looking for. Apologies for my confusion (I've been using another tool and trying to adjust to Bridge).
