    I don't think you can as the font preview was a new feature starting with photoshop cs2 i believe.

     

    Unless you were possibly using some after market font software with an older version of photoshop.

    I guess in my zest to answer your question i had forgotton about Adobe Type Reunion.

    What operating system are you using photoshop 7 on?

     

    photoshop 3.05 on mac os 7.6.1
