Acrobat X corrupted my PDF

Feb 26, 2013 1:52 PM

Hi everyone,

this is really frustrating. I was reading an e-book and marking important parts with the marker for months. I've saved the file and reopened it countless times but half an hour ago, Acrobat X told me there was an error saving and quit. Then when I restarted it it asked me if I wanted to recover the file but there was an error. Now everytime I try to open the file it says:

"There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired."

I've tried opening it with Foxit reader - no luck. The file does open in native Windows 8 viewer but marked text is displayed in a strange way.

Is there anything I can do?

Thanks

What I would do at this point is export the comments to a data file. If you have the original e-book file as it existed before you started marking it up, you can then import your comments back into the document. Export again after making any additional comments so you always have a current version.
