I'm fairly new to the Adobe suite. I have CS6 and I have been experiencing occasional crashes of Premiere and Encore. When the app freezes or crashes, I feel sort of lost, not knowing how to troubleshoot the issue. Can anyone suggest a basic set of steps for troubleshooting these apps? I would especially like to find a log file for each app if there is one.
I know to repair disk permissions already. With FCP 7, I remember there were some preference files that tended to get corrupted, and trashing them would help sometimes. Is there something like that with Adobe?
Trashing prefs and the plug-in cache is done by holding down the Shift+Opt keys on a Mac when you launch Pr, and hold them down until you see the Welcome screen.
