No audio on clips dragged into Premeiere 11

Feb 28, 2013 10:16 AM

I'm dragging movie from Aperture 3 into Mac Premiere Elements 11 timeline. The clip plays fine but there is no audio. Any ideas?

    Welcome to the forum.

Can you give us the full specs. of the file?

Have you tried using Get Media from within PrE?

    Good luck,

So long as you got it Imported into PrE, and can edit it, I would say use that method, rather than a direct drag from Aperture. It is likely that some necessary aspect is just not making the trip from Aperture to PrE.

    Good luck,

I don't use the Premiere organizer because it essentially makes a duplicate copy of everything I already have in Aperture. Is there a way that it could just index those files?

That's how the Elements Organizer works - it indexes existing files. Use Get Photos & Videos and point it at your folder (or have Organizer search your entire disk).

We really do need more information about this video file. MOVs can include practically any video resolution, codec, frame rate, etc.

What model of camcorder is this video coming from? Have you tried using Premiere Elements' Add Media tools to get the video from the camcorder to your computer?

Also, have you ensured you have the latest version of Quicktime? What operating system are you using?

    • How are you directing the Organizer to your files?
    • Are you deselecting the Copy flag?
