Premiere gives me a black bar on the bottom of my Render Preview. What's wrong here?

You can see what I mean here. This is what the sequence is supposed to look like. The aspect ratio is 2048x858:

But this is what it looks like as soon as I render my Work Area for a preview playthrough:

The images gets "squeezed" together and I get this strange black bar. When I go Sequence -> Delete Render Files it goes back to normal.

 

What's wrong here and how can I fix this?

    Odd... but the timeline previews are of little consequence

    if your exports are correct.

     

    Have you exported successfully without error?

    I have never seen this specifically reported as a problem,

    but I would suspect the anamorphic pixels in your 2048x858.

    Perhaps Premiere is incorrectly interpreting

    the par as anamorphic for preview renders?

     

    Again... this particular issue is alien to me.
