I Have Pixelated Text Upon Render

Mar 1, 2013 7:23 AM

Just did a test render of my video.

One block of text is pixelated.  Why is that?

I rendered at lossless as well, and it turned out the same.

All layers are set to continually rasterize.

If you need any information (I realize this is vague, but I don't know what information to provide), I can give it, but please include instructions on how to find it, b/c I'm new.

Thanks

Ah, you're in luck:  here's the information to provide.

Look at your photoshop files:  scaling them up -- or a too-close camera on a Photoshop layer -- results in pixellation.  And turn on the Continuously Rasterize switches for the individual AE text layers in any nested comps.

Is this just one font that is behaving badly? Have you tried changing the font? Some 'free' fonts and some fonts in font packs do not play well with others.

Are there any effects applied to your text layer?

If only one text layer is behaving badly and changing the font does not fix the problem then delete the text layer and add a new one.

FYI, it's a comp filled w/ 8 or so text layers that is being used in a main comp. The entire comp (w/ the text layers) is pixelated.

Is the comp's continuous rasterization button pushed?

Apparently so.  Likewise for the corresponding buttons on the text layers in the nested comp.  At least that's what I was led to believe.

No offense taken.  If you do this long enough, you develop a thick skin.

Besides, it was it wasn't bad way to check that you hadn't overlooked a detail when using the word "all".

This fault would be much easier to diagnose with ascreen grab of the offending text.
