Paintbrush fill to no fill...

After selecting the correct fill and stroke (or no stroke) it automatically changes it to no fill and what I selected for a fill as the stroke (even when a previous stroke was selected).. help?

    And that is supposed to mean what? Sorry, you need to explain better. What are you trying to fill/ stroke? What tools? what settings? what version of AI? What system?

    Default behavior of the paintbrush is to draw only a stroke. If you have a fill and a stroke color selected you will get only the stroke. If you have a fill selected but no stroke, the fill color becomes the stroke color. You may change that behavior to allow a fill, along with other characteristics, by double-clicking the Paintbrush Tool in the Tools panel. Information is available in the Help files.
